Weed Control
Stu is a certified and registered chemical applicator In Aquatic, Broadacre, Brushweed, and Total Vegetation Control.
We Specialise in
Aquatic
We have had the training to safely use the right Agri chemicals in or around waterways.
Broad acre
Also known as Boom spraying. We have the knowledge to ensure we apply the right chemicals to control weeds within crops, without doing crop damage. We run an Arag Bravo spray computer in our Landcruiser ute. This gives us accuracy to 30mm by connecting to multiple Satellites at a time, and giving placement accuracy to within 2lts/Ha (150 or 200lts is or normal Ha water rate).
We run a fully hydraulic boom, split into seven sections for accuracy, and economic use of spray mix.
Brush Weed Control
From December through to May we handgun spray brush weeds such as Blackberry, Gorse, Wooly Nightshade, and Privet. Again we are trained to use the right chemical for the right situation.
While doing this work, our Quick spray unit maximises our out put by allowing us to use the remote control hose reels with 200mts of hose attached. This allows us to get into even the ugliest gullies.
Total Vegetation control
This is predominantly our commercial/industrial property work where companies have a total brown out policy. This work is generally done on days where the companies are shut, to assist with health and safety, as well as allowing us to get the job done in the most efficient manner.
With over 10 years experience Chestnut Contracting prides itself on getting the job done right. Operating off a 4×4 ute, we can get almost anywhere. We have the right qualifications, and the assistance of GPS and a calculation device so we can deliver an accurate job every time. Chestnut Contracting offers a wealth of experience in boom spraying, such as; selective pastural spraying, spray outs for maize or re-grassing, pre-emergent spraying, or facial eczema control in the summer. We also do a large range of handgun work such as spraying gorse, woolly knightshade, and blackberry, or spot spraying thistles and kikuyu. If a job is unsafe to spray due to the size of the weed, or proximity to desirable plants, we look at alternative options such as cutting and pasting the stump. We service all sectors of landowners, from large farms, small lifestyle blocks, section owners, and commercial or industrial sites. No job is too big or too small. Chestnut Contracting also provides other services to keep your property looking great and reaching its pastural potential. Some of these services include:
- Soil Testing
